ULMA Agrícola has installed greenhouses in the desert

Weather conditions, lack of water and high temperatures make the development of agricultural holdings certainly complicated in desert climates

Production facilities in the area require a high level of technology, equipment and adequate solutions to respond to the climate needs of each crop. In the latest installation carried out in the Middle East, ULMA Agrícola responds to these needs regarding the layout of proposed premises as well as equipment used for climate control.

The project covers about 2 hectares for the horticultural crop, which has been divided into 2 modules. The greenhouse model used for installation is Circular Multi-span, coated with cell polycarbonate without any natural or passive ventilation. The greenhouses have been equipped with a combination of cooling panels and an exhaust system and fog system for humidification and cooling of the indoor environment. The cooling panels are located in a central site that connects both modules and it is the only one with roof vent so as to allow the renewal of indoor air and get the temperature inside the greenhouse cooler by forcing the air through the damp walls. The equipment for both modules is completed with the installation of a shade screen, recirculation air fans and an irrigation system. With all of these combined, it has been possible to obtain an adequate indoor climate for growing vegetables.
